Electrical Engineering, University of Virginia, 1990Ph.D. Education, University of Chicago, 1979Paxton Marshall received the B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1966, an M.A. in History from the University of Maryland in 1972, the Ph.D. in Education from the University of Chicago in 1979, and the M.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1990. Dr. Marshall joined the faculty in 1987 and retired in 2013. He taught courses in electric circuit analysis, electromechanical energy conversion, and electric power, and was responsible for the administration of the undergraduate instructional programs.
