Yimin Gao gave a talk at UVA Link Lab Flash Talks on Hardware for IoT
Yimin Gao participated in UVA Link Lab Spring 2023 Student Flash Talks, on March 1, 2023. Yimin presented the "elevator pitch" of his research related to Hardware for IoT followed by a Q&A and a poster session.

Congrats to Yimin for successfully defending their Master's thesis
Yimin Gao's thesis titled, "LiteQAIRISC: System-level Emulation of RISC-V Processor with AI and Mixed-precision Quantization Extensions" was successfully defended in Dec'22. In his work, he integrates an industrial RISC-V processor augmented with AI instructions into the open-source LiteX framework for emulation and validation and further optimize the RISC-V ISA with support for mixed-precision quantization. Congrats to Yimin and wish him a successful career ahead of him.

Link Lab's 2022 Research Day was held on Friday 14,2022 Prof. Mircea Stan presented a talk on Computational RFID IoT nodes at the Edge Also, the HPLP group participated in the student Showcase & Poster Session - UVA Link Lab Students presented 1-2 minute flash talks on their work, followed by a poster session. Elisa Pantoja (HPLP Member, PhD Student) present his work on "RFID Sensors: Remote Monitoring."

UVA Engineering Welcome Back Breakfast is an event in which all volunteer UVA graduate engineering students showcase their work. Muhammed Ceylan Mogul won the 1st Best Poster Presentation Award at UVA Engineering Welcome Breakfast 2022 with “Achieving Everlasting Flash Memory by Preventing Permanent Cell Wear-out With Timely Recovery in Circadian Rhythm” on August 22nd, 2022.

Cole Blackman, an undergraduate researcher in HPLP, has been accepted to present their work "Developing Open Hardware to Accelerate Convolutional Neural Network Calculations for Image Recognition" at the 14th annual Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium on Oct. 8.

Vaibhav Verma Earns Link Lab Outstanding Graduate Research Award
Verma earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering, specializing in hardware for artificial intelligence and the internet of things.Verma conducted his research in the High-Performance Low-Power Lab led by Mircea Stan, Virginia Microelectronics Consortium Professor, professor of electrical and computer engineering, and faculty member of the Link Lab, UVA Engineering's world-class center of excellence in cyber-physical systems.

Vaibhav Verma Earns Louis T. Rader Graduate Research Award
Congratulations to UVA Engineering 2022 graduate Vaibhav Verma, this year's recipient of the Louis T. Rader Graduate Research Award.This annual award recognizes a UVA ECE graduate student's outstanding academic performance, work ethic and collegiality. Verma earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering, specializing in hardware for artificial intelligence and the internet of things.
