Electrical Enginering Graduate Programs
ECE at UVA offers three graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Master of Engineering (M.E.). The Ph.D. program requires a minimum of 72 credits of coursework and research beyond the bachelor’s degree and the completion and defense of a research dissertation. The M.S. requires 30 credits, six of which are completed through a research thesis. The M.E. requires thirty one credit hours of graduate-level coursework and does not have a research requirement. *Note we will not be accepting applications for the Master of Science program during the upcoming Fall 2020 admissions cycle. If you wish to pursue a research degree, please apply directly to the PhD program. The PhD program does not require a previously earned Master's and can be entered directly from an undergraduate program*
