BME Faculty at UVA secure 7 New NIH awards in 2025 Fiscal Year

UVA BME, recently ranked the No. 1 public and No. 2 overall BME department in the Blue Ridge Rankings, is seeing success in new research funding, despite a turbulent year.

According to a report from Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News (GEN), UVA saw an 18.7% jump in total National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025.

Here in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, our faculty secured seven new NIH grants in FY 2025 (up from six last year), helping to drive this overall institutional success.
