Faculty Positions

  • Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty

    The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks 7 tenured or tenure-track faculty at all ranks and in all areas of computer science. We are seeking a comprehensive expansion of the department that also builds bridges with the many other strengths at the University. The primary responsibilities for these tenured/tenure-track positions include research, teaching, and service to the department, university, and professional community. The appointment rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. 

Staff Positions

  • Project Coordinator - Events Assistant

    The Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia is seeking a Project Coordinator to act as an Events and Outreach Assistant. This position will report to Emily Stacy (Associate Project Coordinator) and will assist in events from start to finish and will be responsible for ordering food, reserving space, handling travel arrangements, etc. This position also requires a basic understanding of financial principles and will require access to the University’s financial system.  

  • Academic Advisor

    The Academic Advisor in the Department of Computer Science will advise undergraduate students and also support faculty members advising students. They will play an important role in department efforts to help students succeed in their academics as well as have opportunities for co-curricular experiences that support career goals. Advising responsibilities may address academic requirements and policies, major declarations, supporting newly-declared majors, diversity, outreach, supporting pre-majors, and student engagement activities. They will collaborate with department faculty members and other university offices and staff to achieve these goals for students in the department. They may supervise student support staff.
