Assistant Dean of Students
UVA Office of Care and Support Services has an embedded assistant dean of students in the Engineering School, specializing in supporting students in crisis and illness as well as connecting students with University resources.

Counseling & Psychological Services
UVA Engineering hosts two counselors from UVA's Counseling and Psychological Services team to support students with anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, healthy living and positive body image, multicultural issues, trauma and grief.

First-Year Engineering Center
The First-Year Engineering Center is the home of our Engineering Foundations curriculum. Engineering Foundations is a two-semester course sequence that integrates engineering design skills, sociotechnical issues, communications skills, career development programming, and academic advising.

The Center for Engineering Career Development prepares students to make smart, strategic career decisions throughout their professional lives through professional advising and counseling.

Center for Diversity in Engineering
The Center for Diversity in Engineering is a student space dedicated to advocating for underrepresented groups in STEM—racial minorities, female, first-generation and low-income, and LGBTQ+ identifying students.
Academic Advising
Every UVA Engineering student has a faculty advisor, who can answer questions about curriculum, study abroad and experiential opportunities, and other academic issues.

Tutoring
UVA Engineering provides free, scheduled on-demand tutoring with student tutors. This service is a great supplement to class and office hours.

Academic Coaching
Meet one-on-one with a member of our Undergraduate Success team. During meetings, you will have the opportunity to identify your strengths and areas of growth. Meetings are free, unlimited, and can be scheduled anytime of the year.

Undergraduate Scholarships
Currently enrolled full-time engineering students are eligible for a number of scholarship opportunities including a hardship scholarship and other endowed scholarships.

University-wide resources that are available to all UVA students including dining services, student health, arts, class councils, residence life and more.
TimelyCare and Talknow
TimelyCare offers 12 FREE scheduled telehealth counseling visits with a licensed mental health provider to all students who have paid comprehensive health fees with their tuition (no insurance needed). TalkNow, an additional service through TimelyCare, connects students with a mental health professional any time of day, either by phone or video.

The Office of Undergraduate Programs provides information, assistance and guidance to undergraduate engineering students as well as to prospective students and parents interested in applying to the School of Engineering undergraduate program. Applications are made through the University of Virginia.
