Differential Scanning Calorimetry

The lab has a Netzsch STA-449 F1 for simultaneous DSC and TGA measurements.

The STA can be used for DSC and TGA measurements on small samples, as well as TGA measurements on medium sized samples. The instrument is capable of measuring heat flow and mass change under heating, cooling, and isothermal conditions. This allows for characterization of many materials to determine melting points, glass-transition temperatures, volatility rates, and other thermodynamic data.
